Idea Swap 2000 SL2 DOHC (auto) into a 1999 DOHC (manual)?

SO, I'm getting a new project (I'm thinking this is a good idea). I'll want to Swap 2000 SL2 DOHC (auto) into a 1999 DOHC (manual)?

The 99 has a blown engine (previous owners daughter ran it w/o oil - bad daughter) . But the rest is good (only 80,000 miles).

The 2000 is a parts car (salvage title). Engine is good - body looks like it should be sent off to pick-n-pull once I yank the power plant.

I've done two engines, now, on my own. I jumped with glee on the last one when it started on the first try (but I digress from the topic of this thread).

WHAT, IF ANY - ARE THE PITFALLS OF THE SWAP? I'm just trying to get a drivable 99 out of the deal.

Please let me know what to expect.

Thanks, in advance.

What are you swapping? Engine? Tranny? Both?

You can put the throttle cable from the 2000 into the 1999 and use the engine as-is, that's probably what I'd do. You will have to unscrew the knock sensor from the 1999 and stick it on the 2000. The hole is already vacant.

Otherwise you can put the aluminum intake manifold on the 2000 engine.
