2001 SL
Default Wear to inside of front tires

Just replaced both front tires on my 2001 SL (220K mi). The tires were mostly worn, but both had much more wear to the inside. Driver side was worn most on the inner half, and passenger was worn along the inner 1/3.

I could feel slight play in both wheels side to side. No doubt that there are some worn components. Never have replaced any of the suspension parts on this car, nor an alignment. It has been a really great car.

The ride is a little bouncy, so the struts are most likely shot, and the rubber on the outer tie rod ends have some issues too.

I replaced the clutch a couple of years ago, and in doing that had to loosen the clamp where the struts attached to the wheel hubs.

Money issues force me to have to tackle this problem on my own (not to mention the fact that I simply do not trust most repair shops).

So, if any one can help me with the best way to go as far as finding the faulty components and also the procedure to check and adjust the alignment, or the posts where this has already been done, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Camber can do this but toe out is the real culprit here. I suspect bad tie rod ends. Put some new ones on it (check ball joints too) but they don't seem to be an issue on these little cars and get it to an alignment shop
