Default Selling my 95 SC2

Well, if anyone is interested I'm thinking I'm going to sell my 95 SC2. It was a fun project to see how things work, but it's becoming a drain. I just registered it here in Texas(yesterday), registration is good for another year. 33 miles on the rebuild, no issues except a leak in the oil pan by the crank area.

*Horn doesn't work
*Cruise doesn't work
*Need's a radio
*Recommend replacement of all tie rods and lower control arms.

This car is RUST free. The body is good, just need's paint. Has power windows, locks, inoperable sun roof, power mirrors. I will post more later.

If you wish to make an offer, just send me a PM or post. Location, El Paso, TX. I'm stationed here via military.

I'm planning on getting out, I already have a truck and another Saturn here, so I don't plan on taking 3 vehicles back to Florida and making another trip.

Im in Arkansas, so Texas isn't too far out of the question for me. Im actually looking for an SC2 myself. Is it a stick shift or auto?

Also if that doesn't work, I could always drive it to Florida for you

Car is a 5 speed manual.

The engine was rebuilt completely, acid washed and painted gloss yellow.

*New Clevite 77 rod and main bearings
*Used crank polished
*New DNJ standard size piston rings
*Stock pistons cleaned and sand blasted with 6 holes drilled in each
*New head gasket, new valve stem seals
*New Cloyes timing chain kit which includes sprockets, chain, tesnioner and guides.
*New oil pump with NEW oil control valve and timing cover gasket kit
*New front and rear main seals
*New Water pump from NAPA
*New REMY Alternator from Rock Auto
*New Belt tensioner and idler pulley from Rock Auto(Dayco brand I believe)
*New serpentine belt
*New CPS from NAPA
*New exhaust/intake gasket, the engine was assembled with a new FEL PRO gasket kit
*New Genuine LUK clutch kit from Grip Force clutches, clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing
*New GENUINE GM master/slave cylinder
*New NGK BR-11 something spark plugs
*New NAPA premium wires
*New NAPA thermostat
*New upper and lower radiator hoses
*New STOCK air filter.
*New radiator cap
*New Coolant temp sensors(2)

Exterior:

Purple Exterior with pop up head lights, body is straight and rust free. Trunk latch has difficulty latching at times. All lights work, except for one tag light burned out.

Interior: Power windows work, the power door lock does not work on the passenger side. Power mirror works, interior lighting works. It is missing a radio, an after market one was installed. Perfect time to install a radio that you would enjoy. Door panels are fair. Seats are in pretty good shape, no stairs or stains that I can see. Cruise control and horn does not work, I have not researched it further.

Mechanical issues:

1. Needs a CV joint, NAPA sells rebuilt for $60.00 when you return core. The boot is torn on current
2. Oil pan did not seal good, no major leaks. It seeps in a couple spots
3. Front suspension needs attention. I know the drivers outer tie rod boot is torn, the control arms are bad. For $250.00 you can buy all MOOG parts, that includes inner, outer, and control arms. The guy that rebuilt the engine will install for $100.00 bucks. That's not a typo.
4. A/C needs charge, the schraider valve(valve stem) on the charging port appears to have been the culprit.

The car rides great, struts and springs seem to be in good shape. No exhaust leaks either. The brakes work great. No short cuts taken when putting this engine together.

Here is a video of the entire rebuild and start up process:

http://youtu.be/R7Yb9edzNK0

Here is a thread telling all about it:

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=188008

It was a great chance to put an engine together and save a rust free SC2.

With a little work, the car will be brand new. It will come with 3 Falken tires and one Good Year tire with good tread. I haven't decided if I will swap tires on the rims yet with my SL2.

Engine oil is Penzoil Platinum 5W30 with a NAPA Gold filter. Thanks.

He's in El Paso. That's halfway around the world from Arkansas - even if you live in Texarkana.

Just an update, no interest at all in the car. So, maybe I might be keeping it lol. I'm talking to my room mate about buying it. We will see.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the cash. I would just ship it to me. Would trust a fellow Saturns forum members rebuild before anyone else.

lol. Yeah, I live in Houston, and that would still be a two day project. One day to get there and another day to get back home, plus I would have to 'waste' someone else's day to drive one of the two vehicles home. Unless you've ever made the drive (from Houston to El Paso is 730 miles - about 12 hours), you just don't know how looooooooooooong it is..

Hmm, if you bought a plane ticket from DFW to El Paso in advance, it should be cheap. Or, even a bus. I'd be open to the possibility of delivering too. Remember, just got new Texas stickers for a year. They expire January 2014.

If it wasn't a 23 hour bus ride... I would love this car.

Pffft, suck it up. Try a 2 1/2 day bus trip from Florida to Utah. If you bought a plane ticket in advance, it would be pretty cheap.
