Hey Joe, I have a 2003 Ion 3 , I have broken off 4 rear studs, turns out They are the same as the 2005 Cobalt, the cavalier and some sunfires, unfortunatly I could only get them at the dealer, around $8.00 Canadian,
good luck!!

Hey Joe!
This is my second attempt at replying to your message, I hope it reaches you, I have a 2003 Ion3, I have had to replace 4 wheel studs, unfortunatly I could only get them at the dealer, $8.00 Canadian each, however they are the same as the 2005 Cobalt, the cavalier and I believe the sunfire, I am now sporting 2005 Cobalt studs. If you need nuts, don't be fooled by the dealer price of 15.00 each, there are many after market deals, I got 4 for less than $10.00 Canadian, tax in!
Good luck!

How are you breaking so many studs? I'd be livid if I broke one, let alone 3 or 4. I've done my own wheel/brake maintenance for 16 years and have never broke a stud.

Are you using a torqe wrench? If so, then your studs on an '06 should be covered under warranty.
If you're not using a torque wrench I'd suggest this as a wise investment Craftsman Torque Wrench, 1/2 in. Drive
At only $48 it's about the same cost as what you've already got invested in wheel studs. Your lugs will be properly torqued, plus it has many uses all around your vehicle.

the reason is i forgot to take off those metal rings around 2 of the studs and the rims didnt fit flat so they didnt fit on flush on 2 of the studs so they vibrated and finaly broke i guess its a lesson learned and i did torqe them to 85 im not retarted i just didnt know those little rings would make that big of a diff because they were already on there with the stock tires so i just left them.. after i did some research i found out that i was suposto remove them by that time it was 2 late oh well...

stock wheels and some aftermarket wheels are recessed where the clips are although i have seen multiple cars scome in with AM wheels without the recess and havent had a problem although we make sure to remove the clips before reinstalling the wheels. Did u make sure u retorqued your wheels after 100km and then after another couple hundred? New wheels should be retorqued a couple times before they get "broken in". Also u can torque up to 100lbs on the domestics 4 lug or not.
