Question intake questions

I just bought a SPS HOTSHOT powerstack intake. My hp has increased, but my car is still bauging down a little off the line and a little in second gear. Does anyone know what I can do about this or why it is doing this?

When was the last time you did a tune-up? Is it manual or auto? The automatics all bog off the line. That is the nature of an auto (unfortunately).

I just got it like a month ago and put the intake on for Christmas. It is a manual. I just got all the fluids changed too so i don't know why it is doing it. Do you think I might need new injectors or something like that?

I'm not the authority on this, but maybe spark plugs/wires, or some fuel injector cleaner.

I'm no expert either but I can tell you this much: When I put on my homemade intake of 2.5" tubing I noticed the same thing. The car would bog down especially around 3000rpm. After I ported my throtle body that all went away and I in fact got a big surge after 3000rpm but the increase in power and smoothness was felt all along the rpm band.

You have to be careful with the TB because of the vacuum holes which you don't want to screwup. But the back end of the TB (after the plate) has a sharp ledge where it opens up to meet the intake manifold. I basically ground that lip down to a smooth transition and polished the inside of the TB at both ends. Again, avoid going too near the vacuum holes but i was very pleased with the results of my experiment.

My guess is with the new less restrictive intake the engine is breathing better but the TB is slowing the air down a lot. Eventually I will go with the SPS or XRC TB but for now I am happy with my free TB!

I'm thinking it could be your vacuum lines.
