Default Removing rear brake drum '02 sc2

Hi guys,

I broke a stud today trying to remove a rusted lug nut. How do you remove the brake drum to replace the stud? It appears that the drum is friction fitted onto the hub/center piece, but no amount of persuasion is letting me remove it. The drum spins freely as I don't have the parking brake on. There is no side to side movement at all which makes me think I'm missing something.

Thanks

Ron

It's rusted on, get a can of PB blaster and/or a gear puller.

Good Luck!

If you broke a stud due to rust then the drum is for sure rusted to the hub. It normally, IE new not rusted, should slip on and off.
Use of a hammer hitting between the studs should break the rust free. You will still need to fight it off. A flat screw driver betwwen the drum and the backing plate to pry while tapping hitting the drum should get it off.
