Default 200 miles today...

I put my first 200 miles on my 2005 manual vue as of this morning. Thankfully, since last Friday has not been a "normal" amount of driving! I've had to ferry family in from out of town around and we went apple picking... (All the extra miles gave me practice with the stick which is good.)

But I really like my purchase, so far. My old car had a bit more get up and go, but it was a little car with a pretty powerful engine in it... But my vue is nice, I really like it!

((Fingers crossed!!))

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Don't be afraid to use the whole tach... an Ecotec that never gets in the upper rev range is not a happy one. It will pull to 100 MPH with ease if you keep your foot planted.

I had a 2006 Vue stick that I traded in for a 2008 4 cylinder automatic. I loved the pickup that that little engine had, and great mpg too. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it!

It's funny you say that! I am still scared to push the motor very much... I am happy when it sits just below 3000rpm at 60-65mph...

As the engine starts to rev over that I keep thinking that I am pushing the little thing too hard!

Naw, don't be afraid! Just look at this pic! Yeah, GO VUE! I personally had ours over 90 mph, but most of the time happy humming along at the speed limit. It's just nice to know it's capabilities!!

But, I was very impressed with how effortless, smooth, solid and relatively quiet it was, even at this decent clip. The Honda V6 Vtech mill pulls very strong and with authority for sure! BEST REGARDS

On the earlier Ecotecs, there was some concern with the timing chain rate of failure due to a differently designed oiler and such.

That being said, those of us who seem to drive them harder have had less problems. Once it is warmed up, it is good to go.

102K miles, using maybe 1/4 quart of oil over 3,000 mile changes (seems to vary... some changes it uses nothing at all), and still gets mid 20s on fuel economy.

I'm also fortunate enough to have one of the earlier models that seems to have an error in the speed limiter. Hitting the 100 mph limiter in 4th gear at WOT on flat ground or slightly downhill will make it hit the limiter, buck a few times, and then take off and start pulling again. A few of us on here have experienced this in ours, and it's nice to know that the capability is there should you need it.

There is definitely a kick when you hit the torque peak at 4,000 RPM that you can feel - and it comes alive from 4,000 until about 6,000.
