What's the deal with the saturnfans forums mailer emails? I cannot read them, I just get a bunch of html source. I changed my preferences in the control panel under "Receive Community Bulletin Email?" to "text" because I prefer text email but it doesn't make any difference, I get crap like this in my email:

I sent a message to core@erols.com asking about this problem on Mon, 27 Oct 2003 but I never received a response.

Finally I gave up and went back to the control panel and checked "no" under "Receive Community Bulletin Email?" but that doesn't seem to have worked either, because I just got another message that I cannot read about the 2005 Saturn Relay minivan.

What do I have to do to get these messages in text format or not at all? I believe the reason I get html source is that the message is sent to me with "Content-Type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII" in the header but the message is actually html not text.

Hi,

I'm sorry if I missed your email to me. Check your account options on this User Control Panel page. Change the setting for the Community Bulletin to receive text instead of HTML.

Hi Charlie,
That is what I was saying above. I've always had it text to "text" but I get the html source instead of plain text in my email.

Furthermore when I set "Receive Community Bulletin Email?" to "no" I still get it.

Any ideas?

I received another email full of HTML source today.

I also just looked at the setting in the control panel, and "Receive Community Bulletin Email?" is still set to "text" and "no" yet I get these messages anyway, and they are HTML source not text.

Can you help me to stop receiving these messages please?

Hi silvervoo,

I apologize for the strange emails that the system is sending you. For the time being, I recommend unsubscribing to the community bulletin. You can request that bulletins not be sent to you on this page. Select "no" as your option.

This is really frustrating. Not so much because of the email thing, but because you aren't reading my posts.

The option is still set to No but I receive the Community Bulletin emails anyway.

Whoops! I don't know what I was thinking when I kept telling you the same thing over and over again. Sorry about that...

I did some troubleshooting last tonight, and think I fixed the problem. If you get the same type of email next time a bulletin is sent out, let me know. I sent test messages with your profile set to each of the three settings (text, HTML, and off) and everything seemed to work as its supposed to.
