Default pet barrier pictures

for those considering carrying dogs in the back, this barrier installed nicely in our Vue:

MIDWEST Universal Tubular Vehicle Barrier fits (Petsmart- $69.99, Cabelas- $36.99)

the lower bars match the heatrests perfect, I used velcro straps from Home Depot to secure it there. you can extend the lower feet down to the Vue carpet, but to get extra storage, I have a 1/4 plywood platform under the quilt that is sitting upon 2 storage boxes (6" thick, you can see the back one in the second picture, below the dogs). Our 2 Labs fit back there great and this leaves the backseat for cargo/luggage when 2 adults are traveling.

by releasing the velcro strap in the Pass side headrest, you can fold down that side of the back seat and the dogs can enter/exit out the back pass. door, nice when the back hatch is blocked by a hitch cargo carrier....roger

Sorry to bump this old thread but does anyone know where to pick up the velcro straps like this?

Thanks!

Well, thanks to this post, I now have this:

I got the actual barrier on Amazon for $24.95 shipped. The rug is one of the ones with rubber on the bottom so I can take it out and hose it off when my pup pukes on it Poor guy. I obviously cut it to fit the back. I ended up making the velcro straps out of two adhesive velcro strips stuck together back-to-back. I also put velcro on the bottom feet of the poles. It REALLY sticks to the carpet thing.

So we'll see how it works out this holiday! Leaving to see family tomorrow! Merry Christmas everyone!

Here's a better pic:

Well, success!

For anyone interested, here's where I got mine:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

I then got this:

Like the OP I put some of the "teeth" side of the velcro on the "feet" of the barrier to keep it in place. I then cut equal lengths of each type of velcro (soft and hard sides) and stuck them back to back using their adhesiveness. This made velcro straps that I used on the headrests.

The barrier was $24.95 (free shipping) and the velcro was about $7.50 at walmart. So for just over $30 you can have this setup too. If you want, you can go to Home Depot and get one of the rubber-bottom rugs that can be hosed off like what I have on the bottom and cut it to size. I think that was about $10.

Overall, what you see was >$50 and really does work!

Thanks again to the OP for the good ideas!
