I have always wanted a roadster and this car looks amazing. With a few tweaks, I'm sure you could hit 220 whp with mild boost. Isn't the ecotec engine the powerplant for the Caviler and Sunfire drag cars?

Heart Re: Saturn Sky (hi-res)

First post and new member. I own and manage the SiennaClub.org website.

I joined your site just because of this vehicle. It is absolutely amazing!

I've owned Toyota's, MB's, Acura's, Ford's, Honda's, and one GM product over the years. I am not a big GM fan and at one point swore that I'd never own another one. However, I'm here to say that I'm in love with this car.

I have a previously arranged visit to Detroit the second week of the show and I I'll be spending a lot of time at the Saturn stand I bet.

This is getting some MAJOR buzz around here

Can't wait to see it at the NAIAS. I used to own 2 Saturns before I got my current Mustang.

This is just the thing Saturn needs to make the world take notice. Very unexpected and MUCH needed.

HUGE improvement from the Saturn SKY concept. That thing was a dissappointment.

Correct me if I'm wrong... isn't this car the Pontiac Solstice that's due out later this year. I first saw the pics for the Pontiac car about a year ago and fell in love with it. Lutz promised the car would sell for under 20K. Even if Saturn gets this car, I just want to get one of these. I think it's great GM is putting Saturn in the forefront of it's new car models. Has anyone out there seen the Pontiac pics before?

2004 VUE 3.5L
Default Re: Saturn Sky (hi-res)

You know, I love my VUE and all, but I gotta figure out how to pay it off faster and get this SKY. This would be a great reason that the o% lock and roll promo would be good...I ahve 0% now, and would love it then too! Sigh! I want a Sky, and an AURA...hehehe

Hey anyone got pics of the top up and how the whole thing works? I'm really curious since they haven't showed the Sky with the top up...

Default Re: Saturn Sky (hi-res)

The solstice front end is horrible, just like all the Pontiac front ends. Moving that grille to the front was a bad move. I said it once, I'll say it again. It looks like a Remington MicroScreen shaver, not a car.

Question Re: Saturn Sky

Thay 2.4 liter Variable valve timing motor sounds way to close to a the 2.4 VTEC in the Honda Accord. Dopes this thing have a Honda heart like the Vue Redline??

Nothing Honda about it. It is a 2.4L version of the Ecotec, also used in 2.0 Turbo form by Saab, 2.2L N/A form by several divisions, 2.0 Supercharged form by Chevy and Saturn, and now 2.4L VVT N/A form (with possible others to follow).

Don't get used to the idea of Honda engines in GM cars. That was a one time trade agreement that gave GM some 3.5L DOHC V6s from Honda in exchange for some small diesel engines to be used in overseas markets.

I still don't know why GM agreed to it.

Default Honda motors in Saturns

OK, that makes sense. GM provides some Izuzu (one of there many subsidiaries) small diesels for vehciles in the Asian market. Diesels are popular everywhere but here in the US. Then GM takes the tech. marvel Honda 3.5 VTEC V6 to put into a small batch of high performance VUE's, cause they know the push-rod V6's they have in the line-up are not up to the task unless you supercharge them.
