Default 2008 VUE Green Line

The truck dropped off our first 2008 Vue Green Line. I love the wheels and it drives great. The quietness of the 2008 carries over nicely aswell. Other retailers should be getting their's too.

does the 2008 vue still use plastic panels, or did they switch to steel on this model now?

If you want Polymer panels... a 2007 Greenline is what you're looking for, although they were just as tough to find as the current Greenline (read, very limited production).

Wow, I can't believe anyone still thinks there might be Saturns with plastic panels! Hah!

Green Line specific...I'm very attracted to them, especially at $24-25k. Not sure why, other than I'm a big Ecotec fan now, like the wheels, like the extra help from the electric, etc. On my "short list" if I can work a new car into the budget soon, and there's any still around.

well i suspected they wee steel now. i know the cars switched over to steel in 2008. wasn't sure about the vue though. somehow plastic panels seem to go well with the hybrid green way of thinking....

Switched over in 2008? Try earlier, actually. The Ion was the last car just hanging around with them, for 2007, but before that the Aura came out as an '07 without plastic, as did the Outlook and Sky, and then the Vue finally for '08.

I'll agree with you as far as the polymer and a hybrid/green thing (great combo), but the quality in terms of the overall looks and the fit & finish (big gaps when cold, etc.) just don't play with Saturn's Euro-sophisticated image or they're way up to that.

But enough about that. On with the Green Line!

Does anyone here, actually, own one of the elusive '08 GL's yet? I think some dealers in the 150 mile radius seem to mostly all have their 1, but don't know if any sales of them have been made. I'd still consider one, if it fit the budget.

I've seen one, at the dealer. Apparently it was already sold.

Wild gas prices have their effect on hybrid prices, that's for sure. Check out the buy-it-now price on this 2008 VUE GL on eBay:

Just a bit inflated, eh?

I lucked out and took delivery of mine on Monday. Was planning on purchasing at the end of the summer but then I realized how difficult it would be to obtain, so I started checking out online dealer inventory on 5/9. Out of the 9 or 10 dealerships in the Chicagoland area, I found 2 or 3 that had 1 base model each on their lots. On 5/10 I went to the nearest dealer to test drive, and then order one with Comfort & Convenience Package and Leather Package, but was told that they were not taking any orders. Sales person checked with the inventory manager on 5/12 and I was told that there was 1 available with the Comfort & Convenience Package only that they would ship to my dealer. I put down my deposit that afternoon. Vue arrived exactly 1 week later and I LOVE it! I've gone thru alomost a half tank of gas and am already noticing a welcome and substantial mileage improvement over the Hyundai XG350L that I traded in. I'm anxious to figure out my exact mpg improvement when I fill my tank.

I'm having to learn to drive a bit differently with the hybrid. In order to maximize the gas mileage I find that after I reach my preferred speed, I must back my foot off of the gas pedal somewhat to stay in the eco mode, giving it the pedal very little pressure, just enough to maintain my speed. As soon as I apply my usual amount of pressure on the pedal, the car goes out of the eco mode. It's definitely a learning experience.
