Default Ticking noise from timing chain cover side

I have a 1991 sl1 SOHC. I have just recently installed a new head with new timing chain and sprockets. I also installed a oil pressure indicator and oil pressure seems to be decent.

Unfortunatly, im a bit worried because i hear a ticking noise that increases with throttle. The sound seems to come from the timing chian cover area.

Before i replaced the head, i had a bad knock and the car wouldnt run very well. But now it runs great, with the exception of a bad EGR.

So, is the ticking normal, or did i posible do somthing wrong with the timing chain, or oil pump going bad??? Im stumped. Somebody either ease my mind by telling me whats wrong or what isnt!!! Thanks

(I know its not fuel injectors, and im pretty sure its not coming from the head.)

did you do a new tensioner, and if you did, did you pull out the little lock tab?

I'd say it's your belt tensioner. Your belt it probably hitting the inside of the cover. Had the same problem on my DOHC. If I recall, when you replace it with a new one, you have to flip a little arm on the side of it to release it to apply the tension.
