Default load rear wheel(?) noise

Got load wheel noise coming from rear drivers side on my 2005 standard, two wheel drive Vue. Had the wheel bearings replace a wile back. Thought it was flat spots on worn tires but replacing them did not cure problem. Ended up replacing the bearing again myself but that did nothing.

Noise increases with speed and is worst at around 50 MPH.

The threads seemed to all point toward bearing issues which i am almost sure is not the issue.

Stumped

cheers

^^ Yes Agreed! I've been fooled several times on which side was making the noise.

Did you re-torque the wheels after replacing the bearing? Check the wheels make sure they are snugged down right, check the lugs and nuts for rust, wear, and stretching. Also check spring rubbers, sway bar links, and shock bushings as well they can allow road noise to travel through when the bushings have wear. Don't cheap out on the bearings. I recommend MOOG or National. They're a little more pricey but will outlast the elcheapo brand parts.

Had a similar issue with my '04 recently. Just replaced both the rears. Shortly after fronts went too. Moog all around. Really cannot beat the little bit extra for premium parts.

Like the others have said, replace both wheel bearings again.... with quality parts... Vues seem to eat wheel bearings for lunch.... especially the cheap ones... If you have them making noise, put in good quality replacements....

Thank you gentlemen,

Did not torque the bolts holding the bearing but cinched them down well.

Thinking maybe some other issue like the "spring rubbers" mentioned.

The sound is a repetitive thud noise that speeds up with increased speed almost like a wheel out of round. At the same time there is no perceptible vibration. Some suspension issue seems a good possibility.

Not sure how to go about such a test.
