Default Saturn Shifter help!

Hi fellow Saturn owners. I am new to this site and group. i have a problem with my 96 SC2. just recently my shifter went loose. the "swivel joint, ball joint, bushing, or the plastic thing" that holds the shifter to the clutch rod/cable broke. i cannot switch because my stick is not connected to the cable. i did some research and apparently it is pretty common. i went to the saturn parts site and could not find anything related to the problem i have. i did though find out that saturn does not sell the specific part i need, but the entire assembly which who knows what is included. i was wondering if any one could direct me in any which way possible, or at least give me the correct part name. Thank you and any help is greatly appreciated.

unfortunately, you have to replace it all...the cables don't break, but the plastic retainer/grommet on the back does...and it's all one unit.

what'd they ask for it all? 300? 400? I'd honestly would just get a set from the junkyard if you have time.

when it cools down a few hundred degrees i can get stuff like that if i need it. its way too hot in fl to pull anything that takes time right now. i cant put a bracket for my new battery on without soaking a shirt right now. it would suck pulling some shifter cables right now lol.

i no this doesnt have alot to do with the thread but i never miss an opertunity to bash florida

theirs actually a replacement bushing you can buy, to replace that.

They sell them on ebay..

They have a Nylon one, and a Steel one.

I would go with the steel one myself..

Steel one:

Nylon one:

One of these will fix up your problem..
from what I have read you can even use a few zipties for now to hold it inplace.. (Not a perminate fix though)
but to get you from short distances and back.
