Default Shift Flare TSB question

Tomorrow, I'm picking up an 04 Ion3 QC with a broken VTi transmission. I'll be swapping in an Aisin 5 speed trans from an 04 Ion sedan. I haven't read the whole bulletin, but I thought I read somewhere that the later model 04 Aisin's didn't need the updates to address shift flare. Does anybody know the serial number cutoff for the 04 Aisins involved in the recall. I obviously want one of those later model transmissons.

Also, does anybody have the complete TSB that they could post? TSB #03-07-30-052 or TSB #03-07-30-052a. Thanks.

let me be the first one to say you can do it, and you should do it, they're far superior to the CVT unit, the only thing is that no one has done it yet (only god knows why), what you can't do is put in the GM four speed auto, the TCM isn't compatible with the old ECUs.

oh and thanx for replying...you seems to be the guy who should have a positive charge....i have friends willing to help me do it...but im not the kinda guy with allot of disposable income...i own a tattoo shop in pa i opened this year and winters are always rough...so im on a budget...i can afford the parts if the swap works just not any extra for technical expertise if i get hung up...people think tattoos are expensive ha

from what I've heard, all you need is the TCM, the wiring harness, the transmission, and the driver's side driveshaft, the CV shaft may not need to be replaced, I'd call a driveshaft manufacturer and check if the 3/8 of an inch makes a difference
