I have a 2000 SL2 Saturn 5 speed Dosch dual cam it currently has 238 thousand miles on it I was wondering what kind of power adders that I can do to it without completely destroying my motor even though it might not make it that much longer should I just put a new motor in it or just leave it like that me personally I was going to put a luk clutch kit along with a matching flywheel with cold air intake nickel spark plugs NGK wire sets new clutch linkage Master slave cylinder but also wanted to put a whole new motor in it but don't have really the money to spend like that so for a junkyard motor

Trying to pump up an engine with a quarter million miles on it is a bit like a 95 year old guy scarfing down a handful of Viagra.
Sure - he' s going to have fun for a short time - but you can predict how it' s going to go for the old guy....

There's a quote about cars being reliable, fast, cheap - pick any two. A stock Saturn S is cheap and reliable but not fast. Quote:

A word of advice from somebody who's done it before: dont.
I have a 95 Sl2 with 150k, I started with a header and intake, then full exhaust, then cams, then megasquirt (aftermarket tuning), then turbo. Now the car is pretty unreliable, horrible on gas, and essentially a ticking time bomb. So I ended up buying a 95 SW2 to daily drive since my Sl2 was unreliable and having issues. The lesson here is that modifying a daily driver for more power will result in the need for a new daily driver. I would keep driving your car, and look for another one to modify.

Once you get into forced induction, a standalone ECU, or both, that's probably when reliable daily driver territory ends.
