side-view mirror removal
A few hours ago, I pulled into my garage a bit too fast, and at a bad angle. The result, I ripped my mirror off, and it's in about 10 pieces. I'm going to fix it myself, as I don't have the power mirrors, and it's just a simple screw on type thing. I'll just pick up a new mirror assembly at my dealership. Here's the problem, how do I get the old one off? I don't know how to access the screws to unscrew the thing. They're covered by a plastic cover that doesn't seem to come off easily. Can anyone help me out?
Also, I put a hole in my front passenger door panel. The panel isn't bent or anything, just scuffed up, and has a small chunk missing (about 3/4" wide). I'm not familiar with the plastic panels. Can they be filled, sanded, and touched up just like a typical metal panel, or do they need to be replaced completely? It's going to a body shop no matter what, I have no choice, but I'd like to know what to expect. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
