Default Dumbest Unintentional Thing You've Done To Your Saturn

Last summer at work, during my lunch break, I decided to check my transmission fluid level, so I warmed up the car, and checked the fluid. To my horror, it was empty; no reading on the dip stick. I quickly ran over to the gas station, purchased a quart of trans fluid, and poured it into the transmission. I checked fluid level, and it still read empty. I purchased two more quarts, and poured them in one at a time....STILL EMPTY, OH, NO, whats going on here!!!! There was also a sucking noise coming from the transmission fill tube. (maybe some of you have already figured it out). A few of my co-workers were around me. After a while, it dawned on me. I was not filling the trans, I was adding trans fluid to the engine, and that explained the sucking noise and empty reading on the dip stick. I felt like such a tool , I quietly turned off the car, said to my co-workers that I'd look at it later, and went back to work. After work, I quietly ran over to the parts store and purchased a new oil filter and oil. Thankfully, no damage was done.

The dumbest unintentional thing that ive done to my saturn...

I fell in love it.

but dumbest thing next to that, i managed to shear the head off of an 8.6 grade bolt that holds the rear seat frame and rear right seat belt on. Still havent welded a nut on there(so no one rides in the back anymore, ha)

We were renovating a house that we hadn't moved into yet and didn't have a working and stocked kitchen. I slipped out of the house early in the morning and drove my Saturn to the coffee shop to get our morning coffees. On the way back the coffees were spilling all over the console so when I got home I stopped in the driveway and was dealing with the mess. I opened the car door and quickly stepped out only to realize that the car was running and in gear. It took off like a shot and before I could get my foot on the brake I rear ended our other car and damaged both bumpers and came pretty close to clipping the side of the house. To this day I blame it on Starbucks for over filling the cups!

Backed into a snowbank that wouldn't let me go, when it was only me in the car. Then, to get it out, I left it idling in 1st...ran to the back, gave it a slight push and proceeded to chase it down the road
Diff pin blow-up? Not yet but I keep trying... lol

When we were like 17 and I just got my license, my friend convinced me that it would be better to just paint the interior than to find black panels in the junkyard.

Needless to say it took me months after that to find everything in the junkyard to replace the crappy painted panels.

Let's see... other than unintentional back-ups into other people's cars (like to parallel park or something), I've done:

1. ran the car without the oil cap on for a bit
2. ran the car for a mile with the E- (parking?) brake up, (!)BRAKE light on and all
3. topping off coolant, I accidentally forgot to put the cap on, 12 miles later I get to my destination and notice a BIG puddle of water, something like a water pump... turns out I accidentally forgot to put the cap back on the reservior

Good to know I have company out there .

I have another one. You all know about those parking lot concrete stops?
Well, they can be dangerous to Saturn S cars.
I stopped at a local gas station for a cup of coffee, and pull right up to one.
After I got my coffee, and tried to back out, the car resisted a bit, so I
gave it more gas. I ripped off part of the front bumper facade .

Waited patiently for all traffic to pass before I pulled out of my neighborhood.

Resulting in...
being last in line behind a 1/4 mile line of stopped cars waiting for a school bus.

Resulting in...
a 20-something kid ploughing into me full tilt for some completely unexplainable bizzaar reason

Resulting in...
my trying to sue the owner of the car in small claims court for loaning it to an unqualified driver.

Resulting in...
owner of car bumping it up to district court

Resulting in...
my futile attempt to find a lawyer to represent me
(but I did get some good advice, here at SatFan, from a guy named "A Lord of Chaos" that I can drop on the judge. "...and that's why I rest me case, Your Honor!)

Resilting in...
Me having a fool for a client when I go to pre-trial

one time i dropped a 4-way wrench near the front of my car which left a small gash in my front bumper. i was distraught afterwards & i could'nt even stand looking at it until one day some moron backed into me at a stop light, & then the bumper got fixed not to mention new headlights (i purposely scratched them to get replaced out of frustration because the guy gave me a hard time after the accitent saying "oh there's no damage"!)

Yep. That's it. With all that's happened in the last year or so, court might actually be considered "fun"
