Default Does my local Saturn dealer have ethics issues?

In the past, I have purchased two new cars from my Saturn dealer and felt they were a reputable business. I will be purchasing a car this year, and I have not ruled out a 2009 Aura.

Two things concern me. About a month ago, the dealer purchased a display advertisement for sales representatives claiming they needed 4 more reps. "due to unprecedented growth". Growth, really?, or did the previous crew jump ship because they were starving?

For the past 2 weeks they have been purchasing full page ads in our local paper offering a good deal on a 2009 ASTRA XE. OK folks, I live in the Midwest USA. Is there or is there not a 2009 model year Astra?
If not, I am concerned that my dealer may be pushing salesmanship beyond the limits that I want to deal with...

At the end of the day, a car dealer is a car dealer is a car dealer. It is a business and they are all hurting. Expecting them to advertise that they are near failure and that their previously starving sales crew jumped the ship is a bit too big of a reach.

I have seen several errant references to 2009 Astras being for sale. For a while, the Saturn & GM Buypower websites made references to them ... for a while, you could "build your own" or do a "locate vehicle" ... I never did "find" a 2009 Saturn Astra (in the US). The dealership clerk or secretary who places such ads probably has no idea, nor why should they if the manufacturers can't even get it right?

On the other hand, maybe the 2009 Astra is like the 1983 Corvette ... very rare indeed!
