Default 1997 Saturn SL2 - AC Oil ??

I am changing the compressor and accumulator in my 1997 Saturn SL2. Does anyone know how much oil goes in the compressor?? in the accumulator??

Also what type of PAG oil should be used?? 46? 100? 150?

Thank you

Check compressor manufacturer labeling and cross reference against a chart like this one; http://www.aa1car.com/library/pagoil.htm. There are other sites if you search for info. Yours is most likely PAG 46. Drain all oil from the faulty compressor and use this as the basis for filling an empty replacement compressor. Be sure you're not adding oil to a compressor that may have oil in it. The accumulator needs only about an ounce or less.

For '98's (assuming its the same for '97's;

The Saturn air conditioning system requires 150 ml (5.07 oz) of PAG compressor oil. Service compressors have 65 ml (2.20 oz) of PAG oil installed.

New oil quantities must be added to the system during component replacement and conditions stated as follows:

With no signs of excessive oil leakage, add:

1-Compressor: Remove, drain, and measure oil. Drain the replacement
compressor. Add the same amount of new PAG compressor oil drained from the removed compressor to the replacement compressor.
2-Evaporator: Add 67.5 ml (2.25 oz) of new PAG compressor oil.
3-Condenser: Add 22.5 ml (0.75 oz) of new PAG compressor oil.
4-Receiver-dehydrator: Add 30 ml (1 oz) of new PAG compressor oil.
