I have a 2006 Vue Redline with the 3.5L engine and have nearly finished the timing belt, water pump, and front main seal. I have one left over bolt that I can't figure out. Its a 10mm bolt and about 1.5" long and it looks fairly clean. It was in my pile of bolts with the water pump and I had 6 total in the pile. When I went to put the new pump on I only needed 5 10mm bolts and this one seemed too long to be needed. I went ahead and put everything else back together thinking I would find where it goes but to no avail. I checked with a mirror for about an hour before I put the timing covers back on and couldn't locate a missing bolt. Since it is clean, I imagine it came from inside the timing covers. All water pump bolts are in, both hydraulic tensioner bolts, and all the timing cover bolts are in.
Any idea where it goes? It is possible I mixed it up with another bolt. |
