Rattle at Startup?
I'd just like to ask,
during cold startups, there is a slight rattle when (after i let car warm up 2 mintues) and then i step on brake, put gear to D4 and i let the trans push against the brake. Is this what they refer to as noisy lifters? it only occurs on cold startups whenever i step on the brake. |

Belt tensioner or exhaust heat shields and I would think the tensioner.

Thank you OldNuc, i forgot to add in that there is quite a bit of high pitch sqealing coming from the serp belt area.
That only adds to the clues pointing it to the tensioner, thank you for the input. |

by the way is it suggested to go OEM with this particular part or would a specific aftermarket part do? (belt tensioner)

oh yea blame the heat shields, when its probably his upper engine mount, at least that fixed me after two years of the startup shakes, at least check it with a pen! plus you may want to try priming your fuel pump thatll do it too
