Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I still own and drive two Saturns. I am grateful to Charlie for keeping the site up because it remains very useful for technical information when I need it. I am happy to see that some of the old Saturn customs and approach to business live on at my servicing dealer and that GM has allowed the last model Saturn VUE to survive as the Chevrolet Captiva. That will keep the ten year window for parts availability open longer for my 2009 VUE. It is interesting to see the new Chevy and Buick products and imagine some of them as Saturns but that is not to be for reasons having nothing to do with me. Beyond that, Saturn Corporation is dead and I have moved on.

Hey, everyone. I've been around the forum even tho I traded my last Saturn, the 08 Vue for a Volvo XC60 for my wife. I got a Volvo C30 about a year ago and love it. It reminds me of my past Saturn SC2's, a small sporty "coupe" that is not too bad on gas. Since GM dumped Saturn (and Pontiac), I've not been able to find anything that really interested me in their lineup. I miss the Vue--it was the most troublefree vehicle I've ever owned--100,000 miles with no repairs other than routine maintence; it still had the original brake pads. The only major expense was 4 tires at 55,000 miles. I'm still working the same job as a pharmacist for a major chain (16 years) and even tho I'm approaching medicare age, I don't plan on retirement for quite some time(I can't afford to). My wife still tries to run her small antique and collectable business--she rents a booth in a local mall; but we are not doing very well right now--business is very slow. The economy has really taken a toll on the antique business. We had to close out of 2 malls--they closed down. So we are down from 3 to 1 right now. If that doesn't pick up soon, we may be out of the business altogether. Other than that, we are doing ok. I certianly hope that other old regulars will post so we can see whats going on in their lives. I really miss many of the old members.

Hi Charlie, thanks for all that you do here and for all the Fans & Owners of Saturn cars. I'm a recent owner of a 2000 L300, w/155+K miles, and enjoy the car very much. There's a lot to like about my ride so far and will be taking good care, to keep her running for many more years. We as Saturn owners are lucky & grateful to have this web site available and to the many Fans on here with their support and help is quite a valuable commodity. I look forward to making many contributions to the forums as I start a journey of becoming more personally involved in the upkeep of my car. Wishing all members and fans a happy reunion, glad to be a part of this event today and hope we have more similar types of gatherings in the near future.

So far I've had a 2003 Ion 3 sedan and then I traded that in on a 2006 Saturn Vue Redline which I still currently drive. I haven't been on here nearly as long as a majority of the people, but I want to say thanks for a great forum and keeping this thing going. I've certainly gained massive amounts of knowledge that has helped put my mind at ease with some frustrating issues with my vehicle. All is good now and running well. So cheers to SaturnFans!!!!!

I just wanted to drop in and say "hi" to everyone! After I traded in my 2004 ION3 a few years ago I haven't spent much time here. I appreciate Charlie organizing the virtual reunion and giving us all a chance to reminisce about the Saturn company and cars.
I still remember the first time I walked into Saturn of Macon, GA to purchase my 1996 SL2. The sales experience was unlike any other before or since. They treated me like friend and not just a customer. They didn’t have exactly the model I wanted, so I placed an order and picked up the car on a second visit. I kept the SL2 until I needed to trade it in for my wife’s minivan after our first child was born. The SL2 was my favorite car (and favorite Saturn of my three) and to this day I regret getting rid of it. Probably the most interesting time I had with a Saturn was with my 2003 Saturn VUE. To save money, I purchased a stripped-down version with manual locks, manual windows, and no cruise control. However, I missed having cruise, so another SaturnFans member and I worked to figure out how to add it to the VUE. After many months we were successful, and I posted the method and results (with pictures) to the VUE forum. Opening up the engine wiring to that extent was definitely a nail biter! Many happy memories to you all!

771 visitors online when I just checked, which is great.
Thanks, Charlie, for keeping up this site to support us Saturn owners. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to take care of my cars without it. Update: 897! Charlie.you'll have to let us know the peak and total.

A busy day for me, but I will be here on and off today. Good to see all the love and memories!
Still have my 1993 SW2 and my 2001 LW300, as regulars on these boards know. In five years, my SW2 will be recognized as an antique!

Charlie - I cannot thank you enough for maintaining this site. If it was for my Saturn S-Series gearhead virtual friends, I wouldn't have been able to take care of my 2002 SC2 anywhere near as well as I have. I am grateful to you all.

Greetings and Thank you;
My Saturn story with my 98 SW-2 began with my father's passing down his project car restoration.. His health declined and past on 2- years ago. He wished me to finish the car and drive it with loving care. I have done his wishes with the knowledge and help from this forum. By just reading all the "masters" inputs to issues folks like me have from day to day, my victory was met. Our cars are very unique. They have a personality all to their own. I am astounded sometimes why GM gave up on this car, but as corporate confusion reins, they used this brand to research and devolop the current computer cars and sold those brands for thousands more--- It worked for them. The Saturns now are still performing and are a testiment to K.I.S.S. ( keep it simple stupid ) I am devoted to this little wagon, it just is a love story. |

Hello Everybody,
Charlie many thanks again to you for all your work behind the scenes keeping this site alive and well. I've enjoyed thumbing through all of the historical info. surrounding the brand that you've posted recently. The information in the tech forums is truly invaluable. I have 2 Saturns currently but have owned 3 over the years. I would be remiss if I didn't discuss how much I miss the Saturn's retailer service philosophy. For me it was more than an occasional dealer visit...it was an experience.

...I have to add my thanks to Charley and all the Saturn Fans. I've gained a lot of info by coming here. I haven't posted in ages (been a tough year for us), but I still have my 2 Saturns which include my first one ('96 SL2, 128,000) and my wife's '02 L200 (154,000).
Both cars have been great! I can't complain about either one in any way. I am however, starting to have problem with parts. ![]() Andy |

Hi everyone I still own and drive two Saturns! A 1994 SL and a 2002 3.0 Vue. Hope all is going awesome, haven't been on the site in a bit but after i replaced the computer for the tranny on the Vue all is going great! My son drives the SL and loves it. Well a deer ran into it but being an early model the polymer panels are awesome of coarse and the damage is slight to minimum. My Vue has 189,000 miles on it and the SL has 165,000 on it. Nothing smoking yet!!!!!! Well everybody have a great day!!!!! If anyone knows how long they are going to be making parts for our cars I would love to know!!!! Thanks…...

2005 ION-2 Quad Coupe
|
![]()
I once owned a 1994 SL2 that had 195,000 miles on it. I traded it for a 2004 Ion2 sedan. When it needed brakes at about 75,000 miles the salesman showed me a 2005 Ion2 Quad Coupe so I traded rather than getting new brakes. I love the Quad which just turned over 60,000 miles and I plan to keep it a while.
Saturn replaced the power steering under warranty when it stopped all of sudden as I was spiraling down to get out of a parking garage. |

I am so sorry I missed this.. I have been a saturn fan for a long time. Ever since my dad bought my mom her first car-a gold '97 Saturn SL1- and I remember loving to ride in that car (I was 4). When my little brother was born she had to let it go and I remember crying when we left it at the saturn dealer haha.. Two years ago my dad was looking for a car for my sister and me to learn on, and we remembered how good saturns were, being as my mom's survived her learning to drive with it. So, we got a 2001 SL1 at a great price with not too many miles on it. well, the car certinaly has a character, it has a weird habit of getting flat tires (4 or 5 so far) and ocasionaly a few issues, but it is now nearing 200000 miles and I drive it over 50 miles/day. So I have joined the forum in order to keep it live to see car shows in the future as they (saturns) will be extremely rare in the future and not many people will remember them. So in short, I love saturns and want mine to stay out of the junkyard and on the road

Oh yes, I have hit a deer with it, and my sister is gone off to college so the car is mine now 100%. I will get pics of it up later.

My 4 Saturn's are down to 3. My wife totaled our 2005 Vue and now we own a new Chevy Equinox! Like the Equinox Except for highway mileage. The Vue with the Honda 6 got better mileage than 2.4 in the Equinox.
