If you dont believe search the topic yourself and see that most of you are being way out of line. Get over yourselves really. Take a step back, step down from the soap box. Your points have all been said, REPEATEDLY! Your not changing my view on the subject and i am not changing yours. Again, it all goes back to a simple question. Either you have the answer or you don't. There is no gray area here....
If you'll notice, that's the answer I gave you a few posts ago (three posts above the one you quoted), right after "check in the owner's manual" was "go to the dealer to reprogram".

Here's an example, just yesterday i was in a parking lot at one store. Got back in the car and headed to another store in the same lot, definitely not walking distance. I do not need to be reminded in that 1 MINUTE drive that my seatbelt is not on. When i made the post i wasn't asking for beliefs or even opinions on seatbelt safety. The question was quite simple, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS A WAY TO DISABLE THE SEATBELT CHIME? Not, does anyone know if it's a good idea, does anyone think it's morally right, does anyone have a strong opinion against it? If there is no one here that can answer that question and put aside there beliefs than please save us all the trouble and discontinue posting in the thread.

Good Day!
LOL No worries

It's difficult to get rid of the chime itself because it's a networked response coming from your radio via the audio speakers. Tampering with the seat belt switch inputs is a possibility BUT will very likely result in setting DTCs in your Airbag Control Module (where these switches are wired) and result in SIR warning lamp.

I guess about all you could do is buckle the seat and sit on top of it, although this practise is generally considered having a fundamental influence on the process of natural selection within our species.

I said Good Day!

Dizzy Re: Seatbelt Warning Disable?

Get off joshg31's back. If he wants to turn off his seatbelt warning, it's up to him! Everyone has different reasons. These forums are for helping people answer their questions, not pushing your morality on them.

I just turned off the seatbelt warning in my Ford. It was very easy.. I wish my wife's Vue could be as easy. It looks like I've got to find a dealership that is willing to turn it off on our Saturn..

Like I said before, it really doesn't matter why I want my alarms turned off, it's just something I like to customize in MY vehicle. If you don't have the expertise to answer or you think you're on some moral high-ground, then just shut-up and let someone else answer the question. But don't lecture!

I understand your frustration with this forum; I share your feelings! I DO HAVE THE ANSWER FOR YOU...IT'S VERY SIMPLE! Go to www.saturnstyling.com - they have a piece that you put into the buckle to outsmart the warning chime. Personally I am quite sure you can find this piece somewhere else for much less (ebay per say), however this gives you a starting point. I hope this was useful to you!

While I'm not condoning it (which is another story), perhaps you can scour scrapyards for another GM with a similar seatbelt and take the tongue from that, and just click it in when you need to?

That being said, posting something like this online, you have to expect a myriad of responses - remember, it is a public forum, and telling people not to post in your thread unless their answer meets some specific criteria is only going to serve as fuel to the fire.

It appears that the seatbelt key they have on saturnstyling.com is the way to go or get an old seat belt clip which is basically what they are selling on saturnstyling.com. If you get out of the car alot as in when you are loading or unloading a boat, trailer, etc it would come in handy. As far as messing with the electronics on the Outlook I would only let a professional car tech do that job b/c with todays sofisticated electronics you could easily have quite a mess if something were to go wrong which for this reason it would not be worth it. Good luck on your quest though.

It's obvious that you have never had a loved one involved in a serious crash. I have and it happened only a mile from our house on a rural road (hit by a dump truck whose brakes had failed). Go to your local rehabilitation hospital and see what TBI (traumatic brain injury) looks like. You might think differently.
Do any of you clowns have an answer to disabling the chime?I wear my belt all the time but the chime and warning light keep on going.I don't need or want a lecture
