![]() What is the procedure to check computer trouble codes? Is there a reference (internet, manual, etc.) that I can use that also lists what each code means? Thanks!

![]() DVader, can you even *get* the codes to check? I've been looking around for a diagnostic tool, and the only thing I could find was a trouble code reader that works only on pre-1996 Saturns!
The pre-1996 stuff can be found here: http://www.westecauto.com/html/tcodes.html And here: http://www.obdii.com/ If anyone else has more info on this... Please help! My 1999 Saturn has the (I thought) OBD2-compliant reader, right by my left knee. But I can't find anywhere that sells a reader that works for it! Andy

![]() I suggest you visit www.autoxray.com. Their products seem to work on all OBD2 compliant cars. I have not used one but am considering the purchase of one of these and have heard a number of people (Camaro and Firebird owners) say that the devices work well.

![]() The newer computer is quite indepth. The scan tool used by Saturn dealerships is the Tech 2, Part number 7000081-SAT3... but I think the only way to get one, is to be a dealer with a couple of thousand dollars. As the computer is sent a fault from one of its sensors, it takes a snapshot from all sensors... for example, MPH, engine temp, and so-forth. It's a pretty neat tool, but for the price... well... too much for me! 1999 should be covered under all warranties, plus, most Saturn dealerships are pretty good about letting you watch as they work on your car.
