2001 L-Series 2.2L Wagon
Default I saved an L from getting crushed!

My neighbor has an 01 L sedan, V6 - less miles than my wagon, but he hasn't taken very good care of it. My approach has been to fix every little thing when it breaks, but he ignores anything that isn't catastrophic

So when his 17 yr old hit a curb he told me "the front passenger wheel broke off the axle", and he was ready to scrap the car. I convinced him to send it to the local mechanic to get an estimate first. After all, there was no body damage and my theory was that it could be a simple repair. He reluctantly agreed. The car is now fixed and he's pretty happy I talked him into it! My neighbor isn't in great shape financially right now, and I knew this was a better solution for him.

So that's one less Saturn in the junkyard!

Kudos to you, PaulGraz! You saved a car and better yet, you spared someone from acting on an unwise initial decision. I too am happy for your neighbor. Additionally, (even if this seems strange to see in writing) you made this SaturnFan proud of you because of what you did for him! You're a good man, Paul!!

Agreed good job. I'm constantly promoting Saturn used vehicles as the best way to go to save the brand name and to continue it down the road further. Even if they're abused they're still on the road. so many old people are giving them up and the younger folk are selling them for nothing and they're the best investment I can think of. I wish I could buy them all and keep them some place but I can only afford two of them. I totally fixed up one that was run into the ground and invested several thousand into repairing them cosmetically and I am enjoying them beyond imagination. I'm a total Saturn fan and people call me Saturn Scott. I don't know why but every time I see a Saturn it makes me smile.
