Hey Everyone!
So, I did my yearly tire changeover a few days ago. I took off my Michelin XIce & put on some brand-new Defender 2s. 235/60/17. I had an alignment done in the summer of 2022 - I installed many new suspension components. I didn't have a service record of what was done before, so I figured it was best to replace a bunch of stuff. Anyway, when I put my winters on for last year, everything was straight as an arrow. I even put about 25,000kms in one winter on those Michelin XIce tires, and still, straight as an arrow. Fast forward to spring 2023, replaced those winters with the Defender 2s. Immediately noticed a significant pull to the left, especially on the highway. I thought, well, I really shouldn't need an alignment this early. Most of those winter KMs were just highways. Weird how suddenly the tires would cause a pull. Took the car for an alignment the next day, and everything was pretty much bang on straight, then did a bunch of tire rotations, but still nothing. The pull was still there. The weird thing is, the pull is sort of intermittent. It's not ALWAYS there. Sometimes it'll be straight for a bit, then the pull comes back. Perhaps because I changed all the suspension & steering components, it's just really sensitive steering? Thoughts? |
