Default Horn upgrade

I have a 2007 VUE V6 that I bought new in 2006. It has 152000 miles and it has been a great vehicle. Still looks great inside and out but the stock horn sounds wimpy to me. Just last week I was waiting at a light when it turned green and I waited for the guy in front if me and he had had his head down using his smart phone so I gave him little quick horn tap and he ignored me. I then gave him a longer time on the horn and the guy in front of me who wasn't moving still ignored me until other people in line started honking. Where is the horn located on a 2006 V6 FWD VUE? Even though this guy still might have ignored me even if I had a louder horn I would still like to upgrade it. Thanks for your help ahead of time.

Thank you for the info. Would you know where the stock horn is located on a 2007 V6?

I had same "puny" sounding horn problem - took the old one to a parts house for sizing information and bought a generic replacement which was louder but not outrageously so.

The horn is cleverly stowed in left front fender behind headlamp fixture.

I've attached a couple of service manual extracts which may help. Use care when removing headlamp - IIRC the job was easier when I removed several of the screws above the upper grill so I could untangle lamp assembly from the front nose-piece.

Most GM horns are plug and play if you want to upgrade.

I have some horns out of a 2000 Monte Carlo SS in mine and they are much better. Not sure off the top of my head what else will work.

I think someone else already said. The horns are behind the driver's side headlight in the corner

I pulled OEM horn and replaced with this style. I am not endorsing this seller but the item is similar. This thing is loud.

The horn is a single note. I went to the junk yard and got twin note horns off a Pontiac grand am. Any twin GM horn will work, plug and play.

The same horn circuit is used between 2002 and 2007 Vue.

The wiring for all years is basically 20 gauge so you can check the internet wire conversion chart of your choice for max current handling capability.

GM fused 2002 - 2005 Vue horns at 10 amps and upped fuse to 15 amps for 2006 and 2007 Vue's so I couldn't recommend going for a total current draw over 15 amps - regardless of number of horns.

. Did GM change the plug on this horn? It is not plug and play with my 2007 VUE. The plug is 90 from what it is on the stock horn, locking tabs in the wrong place.

What is this truly plug and play, or did you have to modify the plug at all?

Very few horns are plug and play with the Saturn's. When I used the Malibu horns I took the pigtail from the donor car and cut off my stock plug. Soldered plus weatherproof shrink wrap and no issue's. Huge improvement over stock

Used horns from an impala on mine. True plug n play. Just had to bend the tab that sticks out on the bracket before tightening bolt. Way louder. Best $10 spent
