2004 VUE Red Line
Default Airbag/steering wheel plastics Removal?

So all that's required to do this is remove the battery cables (and in my case I should probably disconnect my capacitor), let it sit for a while, and then take a flathead and turn the little clips in back?

After that, the remove the plastics it looks like there's just 2 screws?

My plastics have some wear marks, so I figure if I paint them silver it can't look any worse than it does now. I need to paint my center console too, but I don't know about painting that silver as well. Might be too bright.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

2003 VUE 3.0L
Default Re: Airbag/steering wheel plastics Removal?

There was a post (some time ago) that dealt with the airbag/horn removal for the 2003 VUE. Directions were given and photos were shown.

The poster did stress the need for disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for a good 30 minutes. So, it sounds like you are on the right track.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I always engage the cig lighter too, just to make sure that any stray current has a much more convenient place to go.
