Needless to say this guy just wants to make money off his own product by killing any kind of competition.
Now to the real reason I'm here(to help)(I never got real help). Hopefully this info I give will be useful for many things because it's what I have used and figured out all on my own.
For the steering wheel adaptor(hub/short hub) that's all we need to be vehicle specific but nothing in the market for our cars so I think there needs to be steering wheels that are oem interchangeable(mechanically not all extras) so I call GM a million times email GM a few times call GM dealers many times tried that online GM assistant help bs on their website and I got tired and sick of hearing reading "no" "not possible" "no results" as if the car was its own make and model with only that one car ever made.... So I started research frustrated and learned(hopefully to be true) that if the a car shares the exact same steering column then they will have the exact same gear grip at the top where the steering wheel is attached. So in turn that would mean if the other car has nrg short hub adaptors in the market then those same exact adaptors will fit perfectly on my car(without all the extras electrically possibly) and I can put a quick release and my own steering wheel. So next step was finding where the f can I find out what parts are interchangeable with which cars of what years. So began the search again and I came across this website
https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/?gclid...QaAoZnEALw_wcB
All I have to do is select my year make model and engine, make a few selections to find the exact part I'm looking for, select the part, scroll down to "this part also fits" and there's a list of cars with the same exact part!!! With all info needed! Next I would just pick the car with the most(potentialy) aftermarket following and search for the part I want with that car and BOOM I have my mod! In theory this method will work on every single aftermarket modification but I have yet to put it to use because money is so tight right now I can't mod my car. But I already have mods in online shopping carts ready to check out as soon as I have the cash!
I hope all this made sense and will help you and others passing through this. If sense I did not make just LMK to explain and I'll do my best.

I seen a hub adaptor listed for the ION but the guy said nothing works but his custom made adaptor... just hoping to get some accounts of somebody who did an aftermarket wheel on an ION

well for one I don't own the ion, so I can't say anything from experience with that car in particular, but I have the aura XR 3.6 and I have heavily modified this car that is "un-modify-able" and it's still not done. But anyway point being is I figured out what other cars have the exact same specs and dims for that part/modification I want to swap/do and it has yet to fail me.
But more a direct response and word of advice, if it's listed for your year make and model then it should fit as described. But if in doubt a simple email or call will give you a guaranteed answer. Ask if it will fit your car as listed, why people say it won't fit, what extra modifications will be needed, is it plug and play, direct bolt on, what features will be lost, anything you're going to be concerned about get a pen and paper write it down before you call.
And I doubt the guy isn't talking out of his fanny pack but just contact him, grill him hard, why do you say the others won't work? They're reputable sellers what's wrong with the hub? Did you test it? What makes your "custom" hub better? Does it come with the same build quality? Will it withstand the stresses? Do I have reason to be worried about safety if chose yours over a reputable name? And the list goes on and on. Contact them both but you make the final choice. Best o luck ma dude! Merica
