The SL2 is EXTREMELY dated looking...that's why.

Also, the front of the SL2 is one of the plainest designs on the planet...boring, rectanglular headlamps and no grille. Many cars had this style...back in the late 80s and early 90s. It's far from sleek...it's just bland.

Trends change, and you just gotta learn to adapt like everyone else...you can't drive an SL2 forever.

The 2.2 ran forever even with the knock so it was no big deal.
The 3.0 V6 is bad in everything. Why do you think there's no Stealths or 3000GTs left? I feel bad for anyone who bought one of those things.
I think we can blame Mitsu for the 2.7 also. The 3.5 is pretty solid as is the 3.3, 3.8 and the 2.4 4 cylinder.
The Jeep motors are pretty good so far. trannys and the 4wd systems have problems.

To each his own...I personally find huge, disproportionate headlamps and oversized grilles to be extremely ugly. I can't wait until this fad passes. There are still a few sleek looking cars out there, though, with narrow, sleek looking headlights (Mazda 6 for example).

Oddly enough, I think the Mazda 6 is a fairly bland, dated looking car as well.

You have a Saab though, right? They have pretty sleek, low profile headlights.

Yeah, and I think the Saab is boring too, lol. I much prefer the styling of my Cooper S.

I know I have a fairly unconventional taste though, so I'm not trying to imply that you have a bad taste in cars or anything...just different than mine.

I love the features that the car offers, styling is ok. I wouldn't buy it though since I don't trust Chrystler as far as reliability goes.

I think the exterior looks rather bulbous and not very sporty.
Without having seen either in person from just pix I would say the Aura is much more attractive.

Not too unconventional, I could find a large number of people who like the Mini's styling. A lot may not like the Mini itself but the styling is fairly attractive. I love the Saab's looks and think it's one of the best looking sedans made. It looks like a BTCC or a classic DTM racing car.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess! That's why it's better when different auto manufacturers come up with different styles, instead of trying to be trendy and always copying each other!

What you find boring, I find to be sleek and mean looking. Low profile headlamps and air intakes, and a sleek shape make for a nice, understated yet aggressive look. By contrast, the front of the Aura looks like some sort of demented clown face to me!

I've sounded off about the Sebring on another thread. The interior gets the nod over the Aura's (especially when taking into account the gee-whiz gadgetry that won't be available in Aura), but the exterior comes across to me as a hodgepodge of different styling elements that don't mesh well.

I agree that the Sebring will compete with Aura, but not directly. Aura is more likely to be cross-shopped with the Fusion/Milan, Accord and Altima, as well as within GM.
