![]() My XE came with steelies. Just picked up a set of Cobalt SS gunmetal wheels and tires for dirrrrt cheap on Kijiji, but it looks like the extra thickness of the wheel means the stock bolts are slightly too short... I tested one rim on the front while the car was hoisted up during an oil change. The bolts have a 20mm thread length.
Did you XE guys have to get longer bolts when you upgraded from steelies? Where is the best place to get them from? No GM dealerships around me seem to have them, can other OEM brands be used? They are M12 with a tapered seat and 17mm head. Only a local wheel shop has them, but they wanted $5 per bolt ![]() Dug up some old threads about doing a stud and nut conversion, but I'd rather stick with bolts. Doubt I'd save much money doing the conversion, even with having the Cobalt lug nuts already. Thoughts? Advice? The dealership said they could special order some 27mm ones for me at $2.80 a piece. Is this my best bet?

![]() I have factory 17s on my XR-3 and I bought a set of steelies for the winter. I used the same wheel bolts and they seemed a bit long but the wheel cover still fit without touching the bolts.
Doesn't seem like it could be that much of a difference, but it might be worth the $56 just to go ahead and make sure you have what you need.

![]() Well for that price you could look at these http://www.race-studs.com/servlet/th...e-Studs/Detail
That is if you would prefer some studs. I think M12 X 1.5 is ours

![]() I ran into the same problem when I needed to obtain tires and wheels for my fall/winter daily commute (fall of 2009) --XR has 18" Summer-Only Tires.
Got a great deal on a set of American Racing Casino Wheels with Hub-Centric Bushing (16x7) and Continental ExtremeContact DWS 215x55x16 -- I wanted an increased sidewall to adsorb Winter Pot Holes. Tried to mount wheels to car and discovered the OEM Lug Bolts to be too short. *** Using the OEM wheel and Lug Bolts, I held an OEM Lug Bolt in one of the Bolt Holes of the OEM Wheel, I took a Measurement of how far the OEM Lug Bolts extended past the inside wheel flange: 19.5 mm. I used a digital Caliper's depth gauge for measurement (Harbor Freight $20) did measurment in mm. There must be at least 19.5 mm of Lug Bolt protruding past the interior wheel flange to ensure complete engagement Lug Bolt threads to the wheel hub. The lug bolts should engage a total length of at least the width of the Lug Bolt into the threated wheel hub. To determine if a different length Lug Bolt is needed: do the same measurement as noted as *** using your replacement Wheel and Lug Bolt that you intent to use; note the measurement that you get from the end of the Lug Bolt to internal hub flange. Subtract this measurement from 19.5 mm; this is the length that must be added (thread) to Lug Bolt that you are using, to ensure safe & total engagement of the Wheel. I found 17mm Hex Lug Bolts, 12mm x 1.5 -- available from Groilla Automotive Products gorilla-auto.com/lug-bolts. I checked ebay and amazon, found bulk packs of 20 pcs wth shipping, $45. I hope this reply answers the question where to find affordable Lug Bolts. Hopefully others have measured and determined their Lug Bolts to be of correct length before mounting their aftermarket wheels.

![]() Whoops forgot to update this thread.
A couple days after starting this thread I called up a local BMW performance shop here in Oakville, since the wheel bolts are the same dimensions. They had 30mm long ones, and I picked up a set for about $40. It's been over a month with the wheels, and they look great, I looove the flat face of them and the gunmetal suits the car really well. The 225/40 18 tires that came with them still have lots of live left, and grip a lot better than the stocks did. I did find a set of SS turbocharged wheels and tires, which look amazing too, but they would have cost 3 times what I paid for these. Only gripe is the wheels didn't come with TPMS, so the warning light is on like when I had my winter steelies on. No big deal, my eyes work fine so I can check my tires visually. So, BMW wheel bolts work, and tons of shops sell them. Pics coming soon!

![]() Yes yes, pics soon!
And the cruise control still works fine, just used it again today. Perhaps you've got another fault somewhere? Any error messages coming up on the radio display? My cruise control stopped working last fall, I traced it down to a blown fuse that kept showing a "Brake Light Switch" error on the screen.

![]() I know I have never had a problem using cruise when the low tire light is on.
For the first 2 years I had 3 good sensors and 1 that leaked on my winters so I had to take it out. Cruise was fine then. ... 08 Astra XR/SRi 3Door, Star Silver, 18" Penta Alloys, Irmscher Boot Spoiler 16" SRi Alloys, Kumho I'Zen Winter Tyres, Yakima roof rack, Rockymounts Pitchfork, Eonon D5107, Blue LED conversion

![]() Guys, thank you very much for all your quick answers. Now the question is – what do you know about https://syndicate.casino/en-ca/casino/slots Do you play there? Any additional information would be highly appreciated. Somewhere, don`t remember on what site I read that info, was stated that in their Bonus Terms the maximum allowable withdrawal for any winnings from bonus money is limited to 50 EUR. Is that so or not?
