Default Can I disable the hybrid system on an '08 Vue?

I have had a '08 vue for around 3 years. Only real trouble I have ever had out of it was a throttle body control sensor. If the hybrid battery was to ever go dead, could I just do away with it? I convert it to a standard 4cyl Vue basically?

Thanks!

If the hybrid battery fails to hold a charge then just replace the battery. Even if the price is north of 1100.00 ,
Reprogram BCM, ECM, IPC is not possible using the same VIN.

I'm having issues with my 2008 Green Line Hybrid Vue. Something in the hybrid system is causing the alternator not to charge the 12 volt battery. I suspect an issue either with the battery, the BECM, or the temperature sensor. I would love to find out if it's possible to disconnect the hybrid system so the alternator will charge only the 12 volt system and not the 36 volt hybrid system. The problem was happening intermittently so I had the alternator changed, but it didn't fix the problem. If it's possible to disable the hybrid system, I'd gladly do it and use only the gasoline-powered motor.

I would have to have the vehicle towed to a dealership just to diagnose, and the repairs would be prohibitively expensive unless I win the lottery.

I learned over the weekend that it is indeed possible to disconnect the system. However, I still cannot find out how to do it. Any ideas? Can I try just disconnecting the three 36-volt leads from the alternator, or should I unplug/unhook something in the battery compartment in the back hatch?
