Okay, now that tirerack has put wheel weights up on their site, and the latest issue of Sport Compact Car has a wheel buying guide in it, it sparked my interest in wheels again.
I'm not going to buy a new set for like another year, or until a higher paying job falls into my lap, or until I wear my tires down to the belts, but it's still fun to look around a consider what can be done. Here's my current personal debate: I'm looking at the SSR Competition wheels, but they're in 15x6, 15x6.5, 15x7, and 16x7. Well, the weights are as follows, 9, 9, 9.6, 10.2lbs respectively. These of course are all forged wheels to be this light. Well, the 15" wheels are about $40 cheaper, they're lighter, and the tires that go on them are going to be less expensive. Of course, that means a higher profile tire, with a smaller contact area. What are your views on performance wheels and what would be good for our little frontwheelers.
