Well intentioned but falls short on substance. If it were at possible for GM to resurrect any records of their EV-1 database and incorporate the latest in ev technology, perhaps our Tupperware vehicles may have a second coming. Just my two cents.

The Saturn era was a strange time in GM, it started out with some independence and different thinking, had a lot of envy from other parts of the organization because Saturn got a lot of nice shiny new things, and then was integrated into the "big" General as sort of a prodigal son with all the organizational tear-up those things always entail.

It's unfortunate that there was no true first gen Saturn midsize or second generation S-series.

Much like the NUMMI partnership in Calif with Toyota, the experiment eventually went on to other things, but a lot of good ideas and people migrated back to the Corp.

I know it was a joke, but I think looking at the comments on the articles was actually a tell tale sign of the fact we all wish there was a simple Saturn car on the market again. It's amazing how the company actually did super well on the customer relationship dealership level and competed with Toyota but was innovative enough to produce the EV-1. The Most reliable car I have ever owned, ever is my 21 Year old Saturn and I would not hesitate to drive it from one side of the country to the other today.
