Default 2008 Saturn Vue XR AWD 3.6

New here, have been scouring forum but cant find what I am looking for.

Have an issue were, trans begins to shift wierd, and goes into limp mode. Airbag, Stabilitrak and CEL come on. Then at times while limping it home, when I would hit the brake, the speedo would die to zero and then the car would slam into gear. And then go to limp.

Read Codes from autel scanner and the are - p0700 Stored & p0700 pending - P2544 Pending - U0073 Pending - U0073 Stored- U0073 Permanent.

I have cleared codes, only to have it all re-appear.

I thought maybe that the laminate disks were the issue, and repaired them with sonnex kit but they looked fine, did it anyways to be sure.

Vehicle has 147k on it. TCM was replaced at 107k. Wave plate, and other trans components done at same time.

Any Ideas as to what else it could be? ECM? Early fail of TCM Module?

Is there a PCM in these cars? I can't seem to find one.

Thanks for any help or advice you may have!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Here are a few thoughts ... and incidentally I don't have 2008 Vue.

Best practice is to always try to isolate "U" code problems first.

PCM typically incorporates engine (ECM) and transmission (TCM) control functions but your Vue has separate control modules for those functions.

I've attached extracts for each trouble code and a screenshot for GM-LAN data bus interconnect.

Consider GM-LAN data bus as similar to old Christmas light string where one bad bulb whacks the complete circuit - so imagine if any of the devices depicted in screenshot have intermittent glitches.

Has VUE been exposed to wet weather? There's a connector near rear axle which can cause U0073 problems with GM-LAN data-bus.

One attachment addresses possible X408 problems. No crank is mentioned but a wet X408 can cause many other problems.

Repost or send PM if you'd like some sort of illustration to zero-in on X408.

Thank you for the reponse!

Yes the vue has been in wet weather, however that specific day it happened, it was no wet.

Yes please post an illustration of X408 that would be so helpful! Is that the same as the connector on the rear axle you spoke of?

If not the X408, then I am looking at a ECM as it is failing to communicate properly? Or just a flash/ possible update?

Forum rules won't let post X408 info but you can find in post # 4 of following thread:

fyi -- it ended up being x408 wires - broken along right rear wheel well.
