Default Parting out my 94 SC2.

As sad as I am to see it go, it's time to get rid of my 94 SC2.

It's been for sale for a good month now, with no serious inquiries, so now I'm parting it out before it sees the scrap yard.

Instead of rambling on about everything I have/don't have, just ask me if I have something.

As I mentioned in the other thread that you posted:

I would be interested in the following:

All 4 TearDrop Alloys
A/C (If it works good)
Seatbelts/Seatbelt Motors (If they work good as well)

Depending on how many takers you have for parts, let me know regarding the above. I'm interested, even though money is a bit tight right now. We could arrange something towards the end of September if that works for you.

Too bad you are so far away... been a while since I drove to pittsburgh but I remember it being 7-8 hrs away, NE PA is likely another 4-5 hrs.

Very nice looking seats... I'll be scouting out front and rear seats for my SC2 one of these weekends, doubt I will find any thing as nice as yours

What's the condition of the headliner? I need to replace mine and your car uses exactly the same color scheme as mine. So that would be the headliner/board and all the associated trim, domelights, sunroof switch cover, etc.

Also, I'd be interested in the headlights/motors, strut brace, and perhaps the hood. Let's chat offline.

I'll take pics of everything and get back to you.

Also, a guy at work offered me $200 for the whole car, as is. He knows it has to be towed.

I don't want to screw you gents out of parts, but OTOH, I could really use the cash and it would instantly get rid of the car.

It's your call, but if the "guy at work" bails on you; which has been known to happen from time to time; the prices and items we talked about in the PM I am still interested in, if we can still set it up for the end of the month.

You have to also think about it from this perspective, while the "guy at work" would give you $200 to instantly get rid of the car, if you part it out; the price of the alloys and the seatbelts/motors that I am interested in alone, would probably net you close to the $200 (with the cost of shipping thrown in there from PA to OH).

Just something to think about.

Exactly. The idiot at work says he bought a 92 SL2 for $55. Yes, $55. It has a good motor but is rusting away.

Now he thinks he's going to sweet talk me out of my SC2 for $200 and he'll have a good running car for less than $300.

Quite frankly, I'd rather see you, the community, get first dibs at whatever parts you may need since I've gotten A LOT of help here in the past and it would my way of giving back to the community.

Now, check your PM, 2NDSOUT.

Happy Re: Parting out my 94 SC2.

You could definitely sell the header and downpipe, the air intake system, the strut tower brace, the leather seats, the alloy wheels, probably the leather wrapped steering wheel, maybe the instrument cluster, maybe the window regulators, maybe the power sunroof, probably most of the exterior body panels, probably some of the interior panels, etc.

If the headlights open and close normally then I'd be interested in the pop-up headlight motors or maybe the whole headlight assemblies. But I see VUEmaniac already expressed interest in those.

If the leather panels on the doors are not peeling and are in okay shape then I'd be interested in those. Probably the power door lock switches and their bezels too.

If the horizontal black things where the bottom of the door glass meets the top of the door panels not changing to a chrome color then I'd be interested in those.

If the interior was tan instead of black then I'd want the door panels and door sills.

Cool Re: Parting out my 94 SC2.

Hmmm. The exterior of the car looks pretty good in the pictures. Are there any cracks, dents, or significant scratches/scrapes/chips? If not I might be interested in converting my 1996 SC2 from black to red. I think all but the roof and front lower bumper cover can be swapped and those other two things repainted. Swapping hoods, trunks, door panels, front fenders, and bumper covers looks easy. I don't know if swapping the rear fenders are easy, specifically the driver's side rear fender where the gas cap door is located.

The hood is in good condtion but has several chips up front.

Drivers side fender has a small crack by where it would be bolted to the bumper cover. Passenger side fender is perfect but has no pinstriping.

Trunk is in good shape and even has new hinges.

Again, I'll take pics of all of this. I have tomorrow night off so all pics of everything in question will be sent then.

LoL it looks like this weekend will be spent tearing down my SC2

Sorry for the lack of replies, gents.

I'm running into some problems on my end that I cannot ignore, so the part out is on hold for right now.

I'll post back as soon as everything is worked out (which had better damned be in the next few days )

Well, not to be the bearer of bad news, but I sold the car today. I was made an offer I couldn't refuse so sorry but now all part out requests are null and void.

Happy Re: Parting out my 94 SC2.

This is great news. It was the easiest solution for hit_n_run, and if the buyer installs a replacement engine and transmission then there will not be one fewer Saturn S-Series still alive. From what I've seen in the pictures in the other thread, this was a nice car inside out.
