Which way the oil holes face doesn't matter. What does matter is the guide plate on top of the head that keeps the lifters in the right orientation.

Why are you needing to replace the lifters? They are a part that rarely ever fails.

I took the lifters out and the were all stuck down in gumed up the oil in them was all burnt black with varnish on the plungers I cleaned them up and they freed up but the all had different resistant pressure some hard to push some not not even through out the set I figure new one would be good I took a pictures to replace them back in the right bucket but I mixed up two of them and I was like im going to buy new ones and I did Im waiting for them in the mail I know you can put new lifters on a old cam I heard that the orientation matters I heard it on this forum. But now I got conflicting info some one said the face to the passenger side I hope some one has a defendant answer maybe you you wouldn't by chance have like a alldata subscription an confirm. And for the lifter plate guids they look to be the same any direction same cimetry can you confirm on that. Also my car has 280+ miles I changed out my valve stem seals as well just throwing that out there they they were shot oh and those lifter im think I face the other holes torwds the oil passage instead of on opposite side in bucket coming from head passage ways I think it may be better IMO whats your OP ?

I don't think it matters which way they go. In the Saturn motors I've built I've never even given them a second glance.

AFAIK the only orientation that matters is the flat side goes up and the hollow side goes down.
