Default Engine Ticking

Picked up a 2008 Vue XR. I noticed there is a ticking sound coming from the back half of the engine. Could this be a bad lifter, or a lifter that needs adjusting? Does anyone know how to adjust the lifters? Engine has about 150K miles. Thank you.
