2008 Astra XR
Default TPMS Relearn

So a quick Google search shows that relearning the TPMS u should hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote with the key on. I did this and its supposed to honk like most other GM vehicles. I tried this multiple times, and I could never get my Astra to go into learn mode. Am I missing something?

That procedure does not work for Astra.

I had some Dorman units replace my dead ones when I replaced my tires last year. There was no relearn process at all, they just started working.

I tested by letting half the air out of each tire and getting the dash light to go on. With the tires refilled, the light when out after hitting the road for a few minutes.

Found mine at Summit Racing and at the time were $39:

Are you trying to re-learn new TPMS sensors or have your horn honk when you lock your vehicle?

Neither are options lol. Horn wont honk when you lock the car, its not a feature on the astra. TPMS does not require a re-learn procedure. It does it by itself. It will detect the new sensor info or sensor changing position on the vehicle and send the info back to the module after driving for a little bit (sometimes may take a little longer but it will do it).

Nothing needed to be done. If its not working you have a communication issue between sensor and module. Bad sensor or bad module. They're half easy to break so I would start with a broken sensor.
