Default camber kit?

My eibachs finally got delivered, but after a quick call to see how much it'd be for an alignment, I was informed that modifications would have to be done to the struts to adjust for negative camber.

To me that meant, they're going to drill out the bolt slots on my stock struts to do this. But I know a number of guys on here have the eibachs in without adjusting camber or using a camber kit, have you noticed any wear on the inside of your tires?

If I am going to have to get a camber kit, has anyone tried the one being sold on ptuning? http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Des...&ModelDesc=Ion

Thanks in advance,
Esca

I know this has nothing to do with your thread topic but i dont really care. So far with just your strut bar and progress rear sway bar, how do you like your handling improvement? Can you really feel the rear sway bar that much?

lol. thread jacker! :P

the strut bar and rear sway bar are great!! best 200 bucks i ever spent. car handles way better than stock. I installed each piece separately so I got to experience the effect of each one.

The stb was the most noticeable difference. The rear sway help keep the tail down a little more. Keep in mind that I drive an Ion3, so front sway is a little bigger than the 2.

And now I'm hoping to get my eibachs installed real soon. I know a number of guys have done it without camber kits, so is this alignment place just trying to get more money from me?

Let's see, 37,600 miles total, got the springs on when the car was one, so I've got about 24,000 miles on Eibach springs with no camber kit and all is good in the world.

exactly, you don't need it and if I'm not mistaken camber is not even greatly adjustable on these cars anyway.

As stated in previous threads, my toe was more out of wack than anything...

Thanks guys. That's what I thought too especially since the eibachs (1.5") is a very mild drop.

one more response about camber kit - not needed.
BUT - my guy said to check alignment every 5k at oil change. The shop is an SCCA racing shop so I took their suggestion seriously.
Has anyone found that the alignment with Eibachs goes out after a certain mileage?
