Default How to drain the coolant completely?

I'm want to change the coolant in my 2002 L200 w/2.2 Ecotec engine. I crawled under the car (once safely perched on jack stands) and could not find the radiator drain. The lower hose seems to be about 1/4 of the way up one of the radiator tanks, but no radiator drain. I also looked for a block drain and didn't find one in the obvious place which would be on either the front or back of the block just above the oilpan. I did find something that appears to be a drain bolt on the front, behind the intake manifold and directly above the starter.

Am I missing something, or is the General so confident that their Dex-Cool will out-live the car? I just found an earlier post describing removing a front cradle splash shield to locate a drain.

Use a flat blade screwdriver or pliers to open radiator drain valve and drain coolant. Approximately 3.5 L (4 qts) of coolant can be drained from the radiator. Additional coolant will remain in some cooling system components
.

How do I get the rest of the coolant out?

According to Haynes, you need to remove the under-vehicle splash shield? Perhaps this is blocking it. The illustration shows a drain plug on the side of the radiator.

As for an engine block drain plug, there is no mention of one in haynes, so who knows on that.
