Default 1997 SL2 Amp question

1. Has anyone mounted an amp under the front seats yet? any pics?

2. I have an MTX amp that fits under the seats perfectly, What would be the best method of actually mounting it down to the seat or floor?

3. I am perfectly content with my wiring and all of the extras, all i need help with a good way to mount the amp. If you need to know why i am not mounting the amp in the trunk or on the box itself, its because there will NOT be any room to do so... I have an MTX Sledgehammer enclosure and it takes up the majority of the trunk all on its own. And as far as "ventilation" goes, the amp has dual fans built in that provide more than adequate cooling.

Thanks for any help. Will post pics after project is Complete.

1. Yes, I have an amp under each front seat. They are tiny Massive Audio Nano Block amps measuring 7"x5.5"x2".
2. I used self tapping screws to secure one pair of mounting tabs along the flat raised portion of metal that runs horizontal to the back of each seat. I didn't feel the need to secure the other 2 tabs. You could use industrial strength Velcro to the carpet.
3. Make sure you have enough room to route your power and ground wires so they aren't bent too sharply or pinched.

Ask Pioneer_Saturn:

In my opinion, just like performance mods, these cars aren't made for them. It's a tupperware econobox. You wanna see a nice, clean install, I'll show you pics of my Suburban. It's the best sounding 1000 watts around.

My Saturn, however, has nothing but a Pioneer head unit and aftermarket 6 speakers. Unless you do what Pioneer_Saturn did and completely rebuild the inside of your car, it's going to sound like crap no matter what equipment you put in it. There's entirely too much road noise, too many vibrations, and it's built out of the wrong materials to be a good platform for a sound system.

In summary, if you don't have enough room in your trunk to mount a simple amplifier, you have way too much junk in your trunk. Even Pioneer_Saturn mounted his amps in his trunk.

Yeah, this guy has only won a few trophies with his Saturn sound system:
http://www.evilplastic.com/syspics1.htm
(make sure to go through all the pages)

Oh and he also did a performance build with the same car:
http://www.evilplastic.com/94mod.htm
And then bought a dedicated car to mod completely over:
http://www.evilplastic.com/my92a.htm
(again, make sure to go through all of the pages from all these links)

Back to the original topic, I've mounted amps under seats by just using a self tapping screw into the carpet (into the thick rubbery backing of the carpet). Cheesy. But it worked.

Not a Saturn.
