Default SDA TAM mounts

I already have Prothane inserts in both bottom torque strut mounts... Hardly any added vibration ATALL!! Now my top mount isnt good... Im either thinking of getting a new saturn one for $100, or SDA's for $89 (as shown below), but I dont want added vibration- at least not alot... Does anyone have this mount? Does it add much vibration over a new TAM from saturn? Anyone have the bottom prothanes with the sda top mount? Thanks

If it adds vibration it will be felt when you are sitting still at idle. I have all 3 SDA mounts and when I hit the clutch right (its a 4 puck race clutch that causes major vibration when not released right) I only feel a slight vibration. I dont think its anything that you really have to worry about.

When I did my motor swap, there were only 3. I had the upper tranny, lower motor, and the TAM. Unless you're counting the one that sits on the frame below the tranny?

It's between $52 and $60 from the three online dealers, getsaturnparts.com, saturnparts.net or saturnparts.com A couple bucks more for shipping.

Are those the ones that you get from the dealer or from another company?

Saturnparts.com and Saturnparts.net are Saturn dealership parts departments. Their prices plus shipping almost always comes out quite a bit cheaper than local prices plus tax.

Yeah, when the bolts arent propery torqued down. It can happen with any top mount if not installed properly.

It's not the cam cover, and it's not the bolts that break. The mount fastens to the timing cover via studs. The steel studs are harder than the aluminum cover, so it's the cover itself that cracks. That's a LOT more work to replace than a cam cover. When I first looked at the pic of that mount, I wondered about the same thing.

If anyone is going to break a timing chain cover I would figure it would be us. High horespower + solid mounts. Nothing has broken yet.

I didn't have any problems last year when I got my baby on the road. I didn't have it all that long but after I broke in the clutch, I was layin into it every chance I got. I have nothing anywhere near what Low Saturn has by means of power but still, I beat on it hard and nothing happened.

Cool. Thanks guys IM sold... Tomorrow Im ordering one... One more question- There is a lot of clunking going on up front and Im going to be replacing my 1)Sway bar bushings up front 2)CAs 3)outer tie rod ends next month after I get my either A)205/50/15 fuzion zri's or B)205/50/15 General exclaim uhp's from tirerack and mount them... I know some of the clunking is coming from the sway bar bushings, and control arms(ball joints)... I have all the parts already except for the tires and obviously the sda top mount... Question is- what kind of sound would give off if my lower tranny mount was bad? Would I notice it? If it is bad but I have poly A) tranny torque, B) lower engine, and soon to be C) top engine mounts, would a bad lower tranny mount be noticeable?
