Flex Pipe Replacement - $150.00

For anyone interested, the flex pipe on my 08 Astra totally broke this weekend. I took it to a local muffler shop and they cut out the old flex pipe and welded in a new one for $150. Took only 1/2 hour.

I was very pleased because I feared they were going to want to replace that entire section of the exhaust which could have been much more expensive.

Thanks for the info. My flex pipe just cracked today, so the timing is about right. 144k miles in Iowa, so it's had it's share of salt. I'll see what the local muffler shop can quote me for a similar job.

My flex pipe random started leaking causing the exhaust to make a "putting" sound. I took it in and had them replace it. Only cost $120. Also had them cut out the resonator. Don't cut out the resonator.

HahA Ecotec do not sound very good without a resonator. Throw a nice magnaflow resonator in there, sounds really good.

I had my flexpipe replaced 4 years ago with a stainless steel version and that one has been holding up great so far. The shop actually moved it further back
