Default 5w30 vs 5w20 in the VUE v6 honda

My rear main seal is leaking, can I use a heaver weight oil such as 5w30 or another viscosity instead the 5w20? Or even use Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic? I am not paying for it to be fixed again for it just to start leaking again.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Synthetic oil will make the leak worse as the oil flow characteristics are different then conventional oils are, Theres no reason why you cant use a 5w30 conventional oil and change it every 3000 miles.
