Default idle low, already cleaned EGR

Ive got a '93 SL2, and its idling low. It idles at about 800 when not in gear, about 200 when in gear with the brake on. I had a SES code of 26, so I investigated the EGR valve. It was carboned up, so i cleaned what I could see, but didnt get real deep into it. Put it back on and the idle is still low. What is my next logical step, the IAC, or something else. Someone help me out with this please.

Perhaps it's time for a new EGR valve.Sometimes with age they just tighten up and don't move smoothly.

Unplug the vacuum line running to the EGR valve and plug the hose with a golf tee or small screw. If your idle problem vanishes, the trouble IS with the EGR valve system. If it does not, it lies elsewhere. 800 rpm is right about normal curb idle speed. As it drops only when you put it in gear, it suggests that the PCM is not "seeing" the car being put into gear. A possible nuetral safety switch problem, OR, the IAC valve is sticking and not opening on command of the PCM to up the idle speed in gear..(clean throttle body and IAC valve)
