Comments seem to err more towards positivity for the car which is nice. The few negatives seem to be people who havent had one or were genuinely disappointed with theirs.

I would really like a first gen wagon, would be interesting.

Can confirm the handling of the S-Series. I was doing those moves a few days ago while getting used to the handling of my winter tires
Abrupt braking on rough ice; Abrupt lane change while braking on dry pavement; Abrupt swerve while decelerating on a highway exit ramp. Always thinking of safety, I am
To know how your car will handle in an emergency is to be a safe driver

Competition Clutch 10Lb. Flywheel. 14 stalls to date (and loving it).
Oil use is 1 ounce per 100 miles with ~230,000 miles on the engine

1st gen SWs has fiberglass roofs. I think the tailgate may have been fiberglass as well.

I though all generations of the wagon had a fiberglass roof and tailgate. I know for sure the GEN1 does. My parents has a GEN3 and I seem to think it did too.

Nope - switched to steel for the 96 model year.

We sold ours - mint. low miles. all paint nice - 100% original clear coat. nice interior. loaded. no rust.

it had no oil pressure. The overpressure relief was bad. $20 fix. (and dropping the engine)

paid $400.

Sold $2500 to a buddy who knew exactly what I paid.

He has been using it as his daily driver - 90 miles a day.

and yeah its a glasstop. I found out when I went to tow it and my magnetic base lights didnt stick....
