Default Hazard lights button pushed in

I have a 2004 Vue and the button that you push to turn your hazard lights has pushed into the dash and I can no longer turn on my hazard lights...does anybody know how I can fix this?

common problem

if you pull the plastic trim you will find the button has a small plastic clip on it that needs replaced

if you do a forum search you should find more info

mine has pushed in 2 times and I opted to let the dealer fix it instead of taking a chance on breaking all the plastic trim pieces

Is that something that would be covered under the warranty? If not how much is it?

Hot glue the piece back in place, that's what I did. It's a common problem.

I'd say poor design. Taking off the plastic trim is easy. Mine went and the piece broke. I just wrapped with some electrical tape and it was still fine for 6 months before the VTi died. My Equinox uses an electronic control to engage the hazards .. Not a push button which is nice

Flimsy plastic bracket. Must be gentle with it. I bet I've only touched that button twice in the vehicles life, and with a feather's touch at that.

It is a flimsly little piece of plastic that holds the hazard switch. The best thing is duct tape. I've had this happen to two different vues. I actually did this the second time one week ago. There are threads here to tell you how to get the bezels out. Pulling the bezels (center and console) out is easy. The electrical connectors are ridiculously complicated. You dont have to disconnect all the window switches. But disconnect all the electrical connects on the center bezel. with the center bezel out, give the hazard switch and crappy connector a good couple of wraps with duct tape.

fyi before you disconnect all the center bezel switches, turn all the switches (fan, dimmer, temp) to one direction. When re installing make sure you turn the switches back to that direction.

I used a small set screw in the bracket to keep the switch in. http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...hazzard+switch I have had no problems since. If you get a new bracket it will just break again!
