Default Water pump gasket

Can someone tell me if the o ring in 2002 l300 is supposed to be so loose when you first put it in new pump. Mine just sits in there and seems awfully loose

Default Re: Water pump gasket

IIRR the water pump gasket wasn't all that tight when it fit into the recess provided in the engine block. Just tight enough to keep it where it needed to be when putting on the new pump.
